Game Reports

Janelle Hansen 16 Angelas 15

Pauls take: Janelle Hanson started out fast, scoring 15 runs in the first 3 innings and then holding off a good Angela's Kitchen.  It wasn't until the bottom of the 7th inning that Janelle Hanson pulled out a 16/15 win with a sacrifice fly from Les Zirbel. The player of the day goes to Pete Houghton hitting 4/4 and making 4 great defensive plays.  Al Caillouette and Lee Libera also went 4/4. Great game ! keep up the good work.

Johns take: The match between Angela's and Janelle was a Tale of Two Cities, "the best of times and the worst of times". Janelle was on fire the first 3 innings scoring the max of 5 in each of them. Angela's trailed 15 to 8 after 3 innings and the game seemed to be slipping away. But then the next 3 innings Angela's tightened up their pitching and field play. Angela's scored 4 while holding Janelle to no runs. So, going into the last, Angela's needed 3 to tie or more for a possible win before turning over the hammer to Janelle. Angela's tied the game with the bottom of the last coming for Janelle. With the game still tied, a runner on 3rd, and 1 out, a short fly ball by Janelle to right field was caught for the second out. But the runner on 3rd tagged up and Angela's executed a perfect relay to the plate which turned out to be a very close play that could have been called either way. Well, it was the worst of times for Angela's as the runner was called safe and Janelle took away the win. # of of hitters were fantastic today with Dave Dorn going 5 for 5, Craig Nelson was 4 for 5, and Kirk Andes was 3 for 4. Congratulations to Janelle on a well deserved win today! Thanks to the Fusaro and Hollis families for organizing another fantastic fish fry. The fish and all the dishes to pass were amazing!

Thomas Pham Dentistry 17   Camino del sol Chapel 9

Scotts take: Pham played a solid game all around. Great pitching and infield D from Jeff Nickerson Brad Brulotte and Dave Elkins.  All hitters had at least 2 hits with the team hitting 690 for the game.  We pounded 7 doubles including 3 doubles from Brulotte one each ron coleman, jeff nickerson, dave archer and eric shouse.

Jamies take: Camino Del Sol Chapel continued with their weekly 50/50 routine, win one, lose one. Hence, our record signifies our routine. Today, Kibby's Thomas Pham hit the crap out of the ball, came out hot scoring 10 in the first 2, 15 in the first 4, and we could never catch up. TP won the game, 17-9. Our offence was inconsistent, except for Troy, 2 dingers, 4 RBI's, 3 hits total. Blevins, Schneider, JD and Wagaman also had 3 hits. However, all was not lost, it was the "Famous Fusaro Fish Fry Day", the culinary and social event of the year. Half of Grand was there!! A great big thank you to Dave & Cindy, Cindy's Mom, Sister, brother Ralph, and all the others that helped with the mountain of food, cooks, servers, numerous 30 packs. Of course, everything was excellent. Another memorable "Thirsty Thursday". Gotta love that Red League.

Implant Periodontics  12   Ranalls Realty 11

Jerrys take: The third Red League game of the afternoon featured Ranalls Realty against Implant Periodontics. In a very competitive game, Implant came away with a one run victory 12 to 11. Ranall’s led through much of the game after putting up 8 runs against the 5 runs by scored by Implant in the first 2 innings. The next three innings were even with both teams going scoreless in the third inning, scoring 3 runs in the fourth and again scoreless in the fifth. For all of the non-math majors, Implant still trailed by 3 runs. Ranalls used the long ball to power their offense hitting 3 home runs through the first four innings. However, things then swung to Implant’s advantage. In the sixth inning Implant held Ranall’s scoreless while posting 4 runs in the bottom of the inning. Ranalls was unable to score in the top of the seventh inning, leading to the 12 to 11 final score. Implant’s offense was led by sub JD Dillree’s 4 for 4 hitting performance and Matt Seeliger going 3 for 4 with 6 RBI’s which included a 3 run home run in the first inning. Also noteworthy were Dale Halder going 3 for 4 and sub Al Cailliouette going 2 for 3 plus a walk and scoring 3 runs. The remaining 6 players for Implant all went 2 for 4. Thank you to our substitutes, Ron Coleman, JD Dillree and Al Cailliouette. Thanks also to the umpires Barry Koch, Bruce Lowe and scoreboard operator Eric Shouse. And a HUGE thank you to all those that provided food, drink and labor for the fish fry feast! That was a fantastic spread of food highlighted by the halibut furnished by the Hollis family and Fusaro family (and possibly others). The fish fry is always a high point for the winter session!

Erics take: Big Thank you to the Fusaro and Hollis family and all that helped make today a huge success. This is what our softball family is all about. Thank you— Thank you to all!!!!  Ranalls Reality took to the field for a double header in the heat of the afternoon. Losing the first game to a strong Implant club 12-11. Don Ranieri and Super Sub (Pitcher) Troy MacQueen led Ranalls with a 5-5 day, Brian Combs added a 3-4 day with two bombs. Dean Schoeberl was also 4-4. Thank you Troy for subbing and doing a great job on the mound.

Ranalls Realty 11  Thunderbird Auto 7

Erics take: Ranalls Reality won the second game of the double header 11-7 over Ralph and Rob’s Thunderbirds. Another great pithing performance for sub Matt Seelinger (thanks Matt for subbing). And a big thank you to Jerry Lubeck for emergency sub in the 6th inning.  Lloyd Newlands 4-4, Eric Swobody 3-3 and Pete Semenak 2-2. Great defensive plays by Shortstop Brian Combs today. Thank you again for all that pitched in on making the “End of the Season”  SPECTACULAR!!

Robs take:  Thank you to our subs Doug Miller (for Ralph), Brian Williamson (for Dave Lawrence) and to Brian Knight (for Jay).   Congratulations to Nico for lacing a inside-the-park home run to right field. Team high fives to our umpires Tom Reinhart and Dale Halder.  We say so-long to our pal Barry Koch who is heading back to Canada this weekend.   A big thank you to Dave (I got my ring back) Fusaro, Cindy (I understand guys do dumb things) Fusaro, Ralph (pure as the driven snow) Hollis and Kathleen (the reason Ralph is now PATDS) Hollis.    It was a great time.
