Game Reports
Implant Periodontics 22 Janelle Hansen Realty 18
Jerrys take: In a battle for the top of the standings, Implant Periodontics, with the help of 5 subs, came away with a22 to 18 victory over Janelle Hansen Realty One. Prior to this game, Implant was 0 – 3 against Paul Becker’s team. After a zero runs in the first inning, Implant’s offense came to life and scored 5 runs in each of the next 3 innings to take 15 to 8 advantage. In the next 2 innings Implant extended their lead to 21 to 12. Implant scored 1 more run with only one out in the top of the seventh to set up a flip-flop. The realtors didn’t give up though and scored 6 runs before the final out was recorded. Implant’s offense was led by Matt Seeliger’s going 3 for 3 with a home run, a walk and a sacrifice (?) fly. Also featured hitters were Dean Schoeberl, Dave Dorn, Don Ranieri, and Dave Fleck all going 4 for 5. The rest of the team all had 3 hits. Thank you to our substitutes, JD Dillree, Dean Schoeberl, Dave Dorn, DonRanieri, and Dave Fleck. Thanks also to Kim and Troy MacQueen for providing the tacos in a bag.
Pauls take: Janelle Hansen was defeated by a good Implant Periodontics team 22-18. We started out slow and then tried to come back but the Implants held us off. Thanks to our four subs to make this game happen. Mike Martin, Troy Macqueen, Pete Sluys and Jeff Silversteen..Pete Sluys and Joel Breiner were 4/4 . Joel had two Hrs. Camino del sol Chapel 14 Ranalls Realty 13
Jamies take: The 1st base kitchen was open again today, thanks to Kim & Troy MacQueen for some very tasty tacos-in-a-bag and Cindy Fusaro with a couple great desserts. We get fed very well in this league. Anyway, we did play, and our game against Ranalls Reality was a classic, 1 run needed in the bottom of the 7th for a 14-13 victory for Camino Del Sol Chapel. Score was tied at 13 going into the 7th, RR scored 0, we scored the needed 1. Roger Williamson led off with a scorched double down the LF line, Ken Silva and Ted Schneider hit singles to get Roger home. Great game by both teams. We had 29 hits total: 4 hits for Pete S, Troy, Ken S and Jamie; John B, Roger and Ted all had 3. Super subs Roger (for Tree) and Ken (for Dave F) both had great games. Thanks for your help guys. Thanks to the 3 officials. Two more games left, and things are close, which is always good to see.
Erics take: Ranalls Realty lost a tough one today 14-13 against Camino. Ted Schnieder kept Ranalls Realty bottom 4 hitters off balance 5 for 15. With 4 hits each: Ralph McKeever, Brian Combs and Gary Weslosky. Mike Martin added 3 hits. Thanks to Ralph and Gary for subbing.
Thunderbird Auto 19 Angelas Kitchen 12
Robs take: Thunderbird played to our great potential, upending the talented AK squad and, in doing so, gained a split in our four-game series. Jeff Nickerson (hr) and Dave Lawrence each had 4 hits, with hat tricks to Jay and Roger. A three-run homer by Garry Weslowsky gave the T-Birds a much-needed spark in the third inning. Congratulations to all our players for a great defensive game. Thank you to Jeff and Scott for subbing, and to Chip, Matt and Les for doing a great job handling the game.
Verns take: Our first game of the double header saw Angela’s take on Ralph and Robs TB squad. The TB boys brought out their hitting sticks today and never trailed. It was a close game until 5 as we trailed by 1 , but When Angela’s put up runs TB matched our efforts then shut us down in the last 3 innings only allowing 1 run . End result TB 19 , Angela’s 12. Leading Angelas hitters were Mike H 4-5 , Kirk A , Gary F and Vern M ( 2D) 3-4 , Sub Mike F and Ken S were 3-5 Everyone contributed at least 1 hit. Thanks to our sub Mike F, scorekeeper Tom Reinhart, umpires Chip and Matt, as well as Les Z in the tower. Congrats to the Thunderbird gang.
Angelas Kitchen 24 Thomas Pham Dentistry 21
Verns take: Have you heard the saying what goes around comes around! Well, this game against Scott’s TP boys was just that! Last time we played TP, Angela’s was up by 10 in a flip flop only to give up 14 runs in 7 to the TP squad. We added a solo run after the onslaught to finish 24 -21. Fast forward to today, after trialing the whole game we found ourselves down 20 to 10 in a flip flop in 7. We’ll after 15 hits and 14 runs by the Angela’s squad, we are ahead by 4 and the TP squad had their final out to get. We’ll they managed one run for a final score of Angela’s 24, Thomas Pham 21. Absolutely Crazy. Everyone on Angela’s had at least 2 hits. Craig N was 6-6 with a double, Vern M 5-5 , Dave D, Mike H and Ken S were all 4-6 with Mike adding a double. Gary F, sub Mike F, Mike A were all 3-5 with Gary adding a double. Kirk A also added a double. Thanks to our sub Mike F. Thanks to our umps Bruce L, Garry W and Dave F in the tower. Sorry for making you stay late and being between you and a refreshment. We’re also saying goodbye to Dave D, thanks Dave and we’ll be missing a couple teammates next week for tournament play. Thanks to the MacQueen’s for the Tacos and munchies and the desert providers. Another great day at the ballpark and it wasn’t too hot!
Scotts take: As the former announcer Jack Buck once said, “I can’t believe what I just saw”. 2 weeks to the day that Thomas Pham Dentistry scored 14 runs in the 7th after being flip flopped by Angelas to win 24-21. Angelas returned the favor. Today Thomas Pham flip flopped Angelas and Angelas scored 14 in the 7th to overcome a 20-10 deficit and win 24-21. Yes, that’s right, they each flip flopped one another, and they each scored 14 runs in the 7th and yes the score ended 24-21 in both games. STRANGE. It was a great hitting day for Jeff Nickerson who was 4-4 with 2 bombs, 5 runs scored and 4 rbi’s. Our subs combined for 8 hits-thanks to Troy Macqueen 2 hits, Joe Pioli 2 hits including a double and Roger Williamson who was 4-4 with 5 runs scored and 3 rbi’s. Other top hitters included Jim McDonald with 4 hits and a sac fly, Scott Kibby with 3 hits and a triple, Dave Archer 3 hits and 4 rbi’s, Eric Shouse 3 hits and 5 rbi’s, Brian Pin with 2 hits and 2 runs and Randy Cihlar with a hit. It was an especially long game and a special thanks to Gary and Bruce for umping and Dave Fleck on the crazy scoreboard.
